According to a new study by European cellular phone company O2,

the world of Web 2.0 and social networks has reduced the maximum of six degrees of separation

to just three degrees of separation between people.

With the economy continuing in a downward spiral, many companies and trade groups are turning to virtual events, whether for large, outward-facing shows or internal meetings, as a cost cutting tool.
